Dress Code
Student Dress Expectations-
Escalona School needs your cooperation in building the proper standards of dress and grooming among our students. Students are to be dressed in clothing and footwear, which allows them to participate in games and activities. All students should be appropriately well groomed for school. Parents are asked to help discourage "message" t-shirts of questionable taste. Clothing with messages regarding alcohol, tobacco, drugs or sex are not allowed. For safety reasons, flip-flops or sandals without a back strap may not be worn.

School Uniforms-
The Board of Education of the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District approved mandatory school uniforms for elementarty and middle school students. Our district wide school uniform consists of dark navy blue bottoms and plain white tops. Students may also wear the Escalona shirt with the school logo on any day.

There is a form for "Exemption from the School Uniform Requirement." You may obtain this form from the office if you are requesting that your child not follow the uniform code. This form needs to be signed yearly.

Hats: Students are permitted to wear hats while outside for the purpose of sun protection. Hats may not be worn inside the classroom. While baseball style hats do not offer much sun protection, they may be worn outside as long as they do not contain a sports team logo or offensive language. Bills must face forward.
