Welcome to Escalona Elementary School, home of the Eagles!  The 2019-2020 school year will begin on Thursday, August 15 and is a minimum day with dismissal at 1:00 p.m. for students in grades 1-5.  Kindergarten students will be dismissed at 11:15 a.m. on the first day and every day through August 26.  Kindergarten students will begin the normal school day schedule on Tuesday, August 27.

Virtual Code of Conduct / Código de Conducta Virtual

In order to ensure the success of our students during our Distance Learning, NLMUSD has implemented a Virtual Code of Conduct to ensure a safe and positive learning experience. Students participating in online instruction must adhere to all existing District policies regarding student conduct. The Virtual Code of Conduct provides additional guidance for students engaging in virtual school activities.

Para poder asegurar el éxito de nuestros estudiantes durante nuestro aprendizaje a distancia, NLMUSD ha implementado un Código de Conducta Virtual para asegurar una experiencia de aprendizaje segura y positiva. Los estudiantes participando en instrucción en línea deben adherirse a todas las políticas existentes del Distrito con respecto a la conducta estudiantil. El Código de Conducta Virtual proporciona orientación adicional para los estudiantes cuando participan en actividades escolares virtual.

Learning Model Commitment Form

On March 1, 2021, the NLMUSD School Board voted to reopen elementary schools:
Preschool and Grades TK – 2 on March 29, 2021
Head Start and Grades 3 – 5 on April 12, 2021

Elementary school parents/guardians have the option to choose if their child remains in distance learning or returns to school for in-person instruction in a hybrid model.

Please select your option by completing our online form by Monday, March 15, 2021. The option you select for your child(ren) is for the remainder of the school year. If we do not receive your commitment form by March 15, 2021, your child will be placed in the revised distance learning model for the remainder of the year. To ensure that our students and teachers have a safe learning environment conductive to learning, the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District has instituted a Three-Way Virtual Pledge.
